TechPreneur’s Noor wins big at Qatar Innovation Hackathon 2025

TechPreneur's winning team holding the prize for winning Qatar Innovation Hackathon 2025.

TechPreneur is honoured to announce that our innovative AI education assistant, Noor, recently won the Qatar Innovation Hackathon 2025 in the EdTech category. This is a major achievement not only for us, but also for our mission of empowering industries with purpose-built AI solutions that address some of today’s most pressing challenges in the digital space. We see this win not just as a success for Noor and TechPreneur, but as a meaningful step forward for the education sector itself. It also affirms the tireless dedication, collaboration, and creativity our team continues to pour into Noor, a project we believe has the potential to drive real impact.

To give some context: the Qatar Innovation Hackathon is a prestigious annual event that offers ambitious entrepreneurs a chance to pitch technology-driven ideas and receive a pre-investment award to develop a working Proof of Concept (PoC). Selected projects are expected to use transformative technologies like AI and machine learning. This year’s focus areas included HealthTech, EdTech, ClimateTech, Future of EnterpriseTech, and Next-Gen Mobility. It was an honour to be chosen from among so many competitive applications, and an even greater honour to win in our category.

Participants were selected based on four key criteria:

  • Problem: Is the challenge being addressed significant?
  • Solution: Does the proposed idea offer meaningful impact?
  • Team: Does the team have the expertise to bring the idea to life?
  • Relevance: Is the concept clearly aligned with the theme?

Let’s go through how Noor, our winning idea, met each one.

What's the problem?

We recognized that today’s education systems weren’t built for today’s learners. Technology is evolving as fast as ever, but classrooms often lack the right tools to keep up. Students are still struggling to receive personalized support, and educators are stretched thin with lesson planning, administrative tasks, and managing large class sizes. Meanwhile, AI tools not designed for education are flooding classrooms, often harming rather than helping student learning and academic integrity.

How does Noor solve it?

We proposed Noor, an AI assistant purpose-built for everyone in the classroom. For students, Noor empowers them by providing more than just answers. It offers personalized guidance that helps each learner reach the right solution in a way that aligns with their individual pace, learning style, and curriculum. For educators, Noor streamlines planning and administrative tasks, freeing up more time to focus on teaching. Users can upload curricula directly to the platform to tailor support to their specific academic standards. The name “Noor,” meaning “light” in Arabic, was chosen to reflect the platform’s goal: to illuminate the learning journey.

Why our team?

Our team brings over 20 years of experience across tech, AI, digital transformation, engineering, and more. While Noor is an ambitious and innovative project, we’ve demonstrated that we have the capability, and the commitment, to bring this vision to life.

Why it matters to EdTech

As a purpose-built platform for the education sector, Noor aligns strongly with the EdTech theme of this year’s hackathon. Its targeted focus on real classroom challenges made it a natural fit for a competition seeking innovative, sector-specific solutions.

TechPreneur is deeply grateful to Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) for this incredible opportunity. These institutions continue to support innovation and entrepreneurship in Qatar, and we are honoured to have our work recognized by them.

This is only the beginning for Noor and TechPreneur. We look forward to using this win as a springboard to drive greater impact across the education sector and to support as many learners and educators as we can.
